Zehra Abbas, Founder and Executive Director of Studio.89 was the second recipient of the CPPA Spotlight Award. The award was presented to her by the President and the Board of Directors of CPPA at CaseQuest 2014 in front of an audience of 120 students and professionals.
Studio.89 is a trendy cafe located in the heart of Mississauga that campaigns for social justice. It is a youth empowered social enterprise comprised of a fair trade cafe and an "artademic" resource centre. What makes Studio.89 unique from other cafes in the GTA is that it positively impacts the lives of not only fair trade workers worldwide, but it also inspires the community by offering in-house youth leadership programs, workshops, empowerment and entrepreneurial opportunities while promoting conscious consumerism. CPPA is proud to see Pakistanis in the community, especially women, make a positive impact in the community we live in. For this, CPPA has awarded Zehra Abbas and her team at Studio.89 the CPPA Spotlight Award.

She has inspired hundreds of individuals, both young and old, by serving as a role model in the community. She has shared her story on her own will with many in the hopes of proving that even when faced with challenges, no matter how life-changing they might be, neither education nor self-respect should be overlooked.
